At the Appointed Time
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"For the vision is yet for an appointed time…it will surely come; it will not be behindhand on its appointed day"(Habakkuk 2:3).
TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria

God is looking for people who have a made-up mind; people who will trust His timing. You may not see His promises happen overnight, but they will happen. In the Bible, Abraham waited 20 years to have a son and see his promise come to pass. Moses waited 40 years to fulfill his purpose and lead the children of Israel out of captivity. You might say, “Joel, I’ve been waiting for a year, and I don’t see anything happening.” No, something is happening. Right now, God is working behind the scenes in your life. He is arranging the right people, the right breaks, and the right opportunities.
Today’s scripture tells us that at the appointed time, the promise will come to pass, and it will not be one second late! When is the appointed time? It’s when God knows the timing is best for you. When you understand and accept this principle, it takes all the pressure off. It’s a very freeing way to live knowing that as long as we stay in faith, God will release His favor, His increase, His restoration, and His healing at exactly the right time in our lives!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father in heaven, thank You for working behind the scenes in my life. I trust that the appointed time for me is on its way. I am content in You, knowing that You have a good plan for my future. I bless you today and always. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Through Faith and Patience
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"...imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises"(Hebrews 6:12, NKJ).
TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria

Did you know that in the Bible, David was 17 years old when he was anointed to be king, but yet he did not take the throne until he was 30? I’m sure during those 13 years there were plenty of times that David was tempted to think it wasn’t going to happen. I’m sure he was tempted to get frustrated or even feel like a failure, thinking “God, did I hear You? I thought You said You were going to do something great with my life, but nothing is going my way.” Here he was being faithful, but all those years he saw no sign of the promise coming to pass.
I’m sure David had to fight the same negative thoughts that we do; thoughts that were telling him “It’s not going to happen. David, you didn’t hear from God. Just accept it.” The battle was taking place in his mind just like our battles take place in our minds. During those times when it seems like you aren’t getting any closer to seeing your dream come to pass, remember, the scripture tells us that through faith and patience we inherit the promises of God.
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father God, I humbly come to You, believing that You are working behind the scenes on my behalf. I trust that Your Word is true and believe that through faith and patience, I will see Your promises come to pass in my life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

He Fulfills His Promises
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory"(II Corinthians 1:20).
TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria

What is it in your life that you used to be excited about? Are there dreams that you’ve pushed down, goals that you’ve let go of? Too often, because those dreams seem to be taking a long time, or because we’ve been through some disappointments, we become complacent. It’s easy to just accept the fact that “it’s probably not going to happen for me.” But just because you gave up doesn’t mean God gave up. God never aborts a dream. He always fulfills His promises! That dream He placed in your heart may be pushed down by disappointments, setbacks, failures, or rejection. But know this; the seed is still alive.
The promise is still in you. You just need to get your fire back! That dream may look like it’s dead in the ground, but really, it’s just been planted. That means it’s coming back. It’s going to flourish! Our attitude should be “This may be taking a long time, and maybe I don’t see how it could happen, but I know God already has the completion date. I’m not going to give up on my dreams. I’m not going to go through life without goals, passion, or enthusiasm. No, I’m getting my vision back because I know God fulfills His promises!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your faithfulness to me! I ask that You breathe life into every dream and desire in my heart. I trust You with the unknowns and believe that You are working all things out for my good. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

I'm glad by the comments that most people enjoy the dail devotion so I will continue to post the Joel and Victoria's Daily word, Because i truly think there are people reading my blog on the daily basis, that need... it .. if you open your heart and minds and Let GOD! in you too will be Blessed.

He is the Author and Finisher
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith…"(Hebrews 12:1-2a).
TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria

Do you ever feel like there are major obstacles in your path to fulfilling your destiny? Maybe you don’t see how you could ever accomplish your dreams, or how you can get well, or how a legal situation will ever get resolved. Maybe the negative thoughts are telling you “It’s over. Just accept it. It’s never going to get any better.” But my encouragement to you is that God is a faithful God! He’s called the Author and the Finisher of our faith. God will never start something that He cannot finish. That promise He put in your heart—that you’re going to be healed, that you’re coming out of debt, that your family will be restored—God has every intention of bringing those promises to pass.
When God put the dream in your heart, He already had a completion date. He can already see it done. You may not see how it can happen. It may be taking a long time. All the odds are against you. But if you’ll just keep believing, keep praying, and keep being your best, then God promises He is going to finish what He started in you!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father God, thank You for being the Author and Finisher of my faith. I choose to submit every area of my mind, will, and emotions to You. I invite You to have Your way in me and complete what You’ve started in my life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Inside out Burgers

Inside-Out Cheeseburgers
Memorial Day and burgers on the grill go hand in hand, but burgers can often be grease-laden calorie bombs—not so appealing for those of us who want to get the summer off to a healthy start. So here at EatingWell we’ve come up with a suite of Healthy Burger Recipes that are sure to please the palate without plumping your waistline. The key is to think outside the box and experiment with your ingredients. That way you can enjoy a juicy burger on Memorial Day, and many days ahead.
Here are a few of my favorite healthy burger recipes:
Inside-Out Cheeseburgers (see recipe below): Why put the cheese on top of the burger when half of it just melts off? Instead, form the burger around the cheese so you can char the meat and safeguard the more delicate flavors. Use any mixture of hard or semihard cheeses—Emmentaler and Gouda or Asiago and Parmigiano-Reggiano also pair well.
Spanish Pork Burgers (click for recipe): This Spanish-themed burger is boldly flavored with sautéed onions (which keep it moist), paprika, garlic and green olives. The creamy mayonnaise spread is tangy with lemon and a hint of earthy saffron.
Smoky Buffalo Burger (click for recipe): Here we flavor sweet, beefy buffalo (bison) with smoked cheese and smoky barbecue sauce. Instead of melted on top, cheese is used here to season the meat—adding moisture and smoky flavor inside the burger. Wild rice bulks up the serving size (and adds vitamins and minerals), while keeping it lean. Plus the flavor and chewy texture are a wonderful complement to the meat. If you can’t find buffalo in your store, substitute 90%-lean ground beef.
Chickpea Burgers & Tahini Sauce (click for recipe): Rather than a heavy, fried falafel, here's an updated version of this pocket sandwich: a light chickpea patty served in a whole-wheat pita with a flavorful but light tahini sauce.
"Fajita" Burgers (click for recipe): This spicy burger is served on an oblong roll, slathered with a spicy chipotle mayonnaise and topped with roasted Anaheim peppers and a delicious slaw.
Inside-Out CheeseburgersActive time: 20 minutes Total: 35 minutes
1/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese1/4 cup shredded Gruyere cheese1 pound 90%-lean ground beef1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce1 1/2 teaspoons paprika1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
1. Preheat grill to medium-high or preheat the broiler.2. Combine Cheddar and Gruyere in a small bowl.3. Gently mix beef, Worcestershire, paprika and pepper in a large bowl, preferably with your hands, without overworking. Shape into 8 thin, 4-inch-wide patties. Mound 2 tablespoons of the cheese mixture on each of 4 patties, leaving a 1/2-inch border. Cover each with one of the remaining patties. Crimp and seal the edges closed.4. To grill: Lightly oil the grill rack (see Tip). Grill the stuffed patties over medium-high heat, about 4 minutes per side for medium-well. (Be sure not to press the burgers as they cook or they’ll split open and the cheese will ooze out.) To broil: Cover a broiler pan with foil and coat with cooking spray. Broil the stuffed patties in the upper third of the oven, about 4 minutes per side for medium-well. In either case, let the burgers stand for 5 minutes before serving.
Makes 4 servings.

TIP: To oil a grill rack: Oil a folded paper towel, hold it with tongs and rub it over the rack. (Do not use cooking spray on a hot grill.)

Sunday Is On the Way
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"They will flog Him and kill Him; and on the third day He will rise again"(Luke 18:33, AMP).
TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria

Every year all over the world, people honor Good Friday as they day Jesus was crucified. It was the darkest, most painful, discouraging day of His life. To others, it looked as if it was over. It looked as if His enemies had gotten the best of Him. But God had other plans. Jesus’ enemies put Him in the grave on Friday celebrating their victory, but Sunday morning was a different story. The grave could not hold Him. Death couldn’t contain Him. The forces of darkness couldn’t stop Him. On the third day, Jesus came out of the grave and He said, “I was dead, but now I am alive forevermore.”
One principle that the resurrection teaches us is that God will always finish what He started. No matter how dark it looks, no matter how long it’s been, no matter how many people are trying to push you down; if you will stay in faith, God will always take you from Friday to Sunday. You will see your day of breakthrough because God will complete what He started. If you are going through a dark time today, remember that your day of resurrection, your “Sunday” is on the way! Keep standing, keep believing, because soon you will rise up into the higher places He has in store for you!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father in heaven, thank You for Your resurrection power that is alive in me. I choose to keep my eyes on You, the Author and Finisher of my faith. Thank You that my day of breakthrough is on its way! In Jesus’ Name. Amen!

Leave the Way Open
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave the way open for [God's] wrath; for it is written, Vengeance is Mine, I will repay (requite), says the Lord"(Romans 12:19, AMP).
TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria

We all go through situations where we’re not being treated fairly. Maybe somebody is talking behind your back or trying to make you look bad, maybe you were overlooked for a promotion or cheated in a business deal. When we’re being mistreated, the natural thing is to try to defend ourselves and set the record straight. Human nature wants to get even and get revenge. But the scripture says, “Vengeance is Mine… says the Lord.” That means God wants to make your wrongs right. He wants to pay you back for every unfair thing that has happened. He is a God of justice.
Notice what today’s scripture says: you can either avenge yourself or you can let God be your avenger, but you can’t have it both ways. If you take matters into your own hands, then God is going to step back and say, “Go ahead, do it your way. Looks like you don’t need My help.” But on the other hand, if we choose to stay on the high road and say, “No, I’m going to let God be my avenger and trust God to bring justice into my life”, then you are leaving the way open for God to move mightily on your behalf!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Heavenly Father, I humbly come to You asking that You be my vindicator. I choose to release all those who have hurt me and every wrong done to me. Fill me with your peace and love. I trust that You are working on my behalf, and I look for Your goodness in my life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

The Sacrifice of Praise
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"Through Him, therefore, let us constantly and at all times offer up to God a sacrifice of praise, which is the fruit of lips that thankfully acknowledge and confess and glorify His name"(Hebrews 13:15, AMP).

TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria
The Bible tells us there are many ways to praise and worship God— but have you ever thought about what it means to offer a sacrifice of praise? It means that we acknowledge God above our circumstances. We live our lives in such a way that we honor and glorify Him no matter what is going on around us. We rejoice in all things.
For example, when somebody offends you and you feel like giving them a piece of your mind, but instead you just smile, do you know what you just did? You were saying with your actions, “I am living at a higher level. I am acknowledging God in every circumstance.” On the freeway, when someone cuts you off and you’re just about to tell them what you think, but instead you look over and smile, that’s giving a sacrifice of praise. Remember, God promises to dwell among the praises of His people. When you continually offer up praise, you are inviting God’s presence and power into every area of your life!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father in heaven, I choose to praise and glorify You in all circumstances. Help me, by Your Spirit, to be a light and example to the world around me. Thank You for working in my heart. I bless You today and always. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Hope Beyond All Reason
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping—believing that he would become the father of many nations…"(Romans 4:18, NLT).
TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria

Are you facing a situation that seems hopeless? Maybe you have a promise from God that you haven’t seen come to pass yet. Perhaps it seems like it could have come to pass a few years ago, but now there’s no reason to hope any longer.
In the Bible, Abraham was in the same situation. He had a promise from God that He would be the father of many nations. The only problem was that both Abraham and His wife, Sarah, were well beyond child-bearing years. Abraham didn’t see any reason to hope. There was no way he could think of for God’s promise to come to pass. But I love what this scripture says—even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept on hoping. He chose to have an attitude of faith and expectancy, and God was faithful to Abraham and fulfilled His promise! I encourage you today, when you are facing a situation that looks hopeless, put your hope in God! He will never forsake You; He is the one, true, faithful God! When you hope beyond reason, you will see His promises fulfilled in every area of your life! one, true, faithful God! When you hope beyond reason, you will see His promises fulfilled in every area of your life!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your faithfulness in my life. I trust that Your promises are true. I choose to put my hope in You no matter what my circumstances may look like. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Choose to Rejoice
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"Rejoice in the Lord, you [consistently] righteous (upright and in right standing with God), and give thanks at the remembrance of His holiness"(Psalm 97:12, AMP).
TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria

All through the scripture we are told to rejoice in the Lord always. It’s interesting that the word “rejoice” doesn’t just mean to be vocal and to give God praise with our words. Rejoice also means “to brighten up,” “to spin around,” and “to leap for joy.” In other words, you rejoice with your actions. You rejoice with your countenance. Do you realize you can rejoice by simply putting a smile on your face?
When times are tough, when things aren’t going as planned, many people have a long, sour face. They’re down, discouraged, worried, and upset. But when you choose to rejoice, you smile and have a pleasant demeanor no matter what. And it’s not because you necessarily feel like it or because everything is perfect. You just simply smile by faith. You smile knowing that your expression is saying to God, “I trust You. I know you are working all things out for my good.”Make the decision today and every day to rejoice in the Lord! Put a smile on your face and let the whole world know your hope is in the Lord.
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father God, I choose to rejoice in You. I know that Your goodness goes way beyond my difficulty. I know that even when I don’t see a way, You are making a way for me. Fill me with Your supernatural peace and joy as I surrender every area of my life to You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Reverse and Restore
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"…Give praise and thanks to the Lord of hosts, for the Lord is good; for His mercy and kindness and steadfast love endure forever! For I will cause the captivity of the land to be reversed and return to be as it was at first, says the Lord"(Jeremiah 33:11, AMP).
TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria

Are you going through a difficult situation in your life? Today´s verse is a promise from God that tells us that when we have the voice of gladness and count it all joy, when we offer up the sacrifice of praise, God will cause captivity to be reversed and whatever has been stolen will be restored. Two words I love here: reversed and restored. No matter what is going on around you, when you stay full of joy and praise, God is going to turn things around in your favor. He is going to reverse negative situations. He´s going to restore things you thought were lost for good! But notice it doesn´t happen by complaining or being negative or sour. It happens when you have the voice of gladness, the voice of joy.
That means you get up in the morning with a song in your heart! You go out each day with a smile on your face. Things may not always go your way, but don´t get discouraged. Shake it off and count it all joy. When you live with this attitude, you might as well get ready–God is going to reverse and restore every area of your life!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father in heaven, I come to you today giving you all that I am. I choose to praise you no matter what is going on. Fill my heart with joy and help me see the bright future You have in store for me. In Jesus´ Name. Amen.

Weight Management!

Healthy Weight Management

Why do fruits and vegetables matter?

Research suggests that eating more fruits and vegetables is associated with better weight maintenance. More specifically, studies have shown those who consume more fruits and vegetables while decreasing fat and added sugar …
manage weight better,
are less hungry, and
have better intake of other nutrients such as vitamins and minerals.
Why do fruits and vegetables help with managing weight?
Low in calories. Most are low in calories compared to the same volume of other foods. See Volume Comparisons and How You Can Save Calories by Eating Fruits and Vegetables
Help you feel full. They have a high water and fiber content, which helps you feel full and may help to delay feelings of hunger between eating occasions.
Help you eat less. Eating raw or crisply steamed cooked vegetables requires more chewing, which may slow the pace of eating, helping to decrease intake at a meal.
Replace ‘bad’ foods. Fruits and veggies replace foods that are high in fat and sugar.
What Do I Get For 100 Calories?

When you eat fruits and vegetables in place of other foods, you get MORE! Why? Because they are high in fiber and water, the volume (per calorie) is greater when compared to other foods. See Our 100-Calorie Comparison Chart

Remember Your Victories
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph…"(II Corinthians 2:14, NKJ).

TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria

When you think about your past, what events do you remember? What memories do you allow to play over and over in your mind? In the Old Testament, they had what they called memorial stones. These were used to remind the people about the good things God did in their lives. We need to remind ourselves today to focus on our victories. Sure, we´ve all had setbacks, but when you meditate on your disappointments and failures, it only drains you of valuable energy. It steals your confidence and joy. But when you focus on your victories, it builds your strength and confidence. It feeds your faith. It gives you a reason to give God praise. Praise catches God´s attention. He inhabits the praises of His people. And when God shows up on the scene, every enemy must flee!
I encourage you to get into the habit of focusing on your victories. Remember, every good and perfect gift comes from Him. As you praise and thank Him for His favor and victory in your life, He´ll open up supernatural doors for you to move forward into the abundant life He has for you!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father in heaven, thank You for Your faithfulness in my life. I release every hurt from the past and choose to focus on my victories. I bless and praise You today for showing me Your goodness In Jesus´ Name. Amen.
NYC asst. principal with swine flu very ill
By MARCUS FRANKLIN, Associated Press Writer Marcus Franklin, Associated Press

NEW YORK – Maintenance workers scrubbed desks and door handles Friday in a swine flu outbreak that shut down three New York City public schools and left an assistant principal hospitalized in critical condition on a breathing tube.
Education Department spokeswoman Margie Feinberg said maintenance crews were thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting two middle schools and one elementary school in Queens where hundreds of students were sent home sick this week.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced the school closures Thursday evening, saying four students and the assistant principal at the Susan B. Anthony middle school in Hollis have documented cases of swine flu.
The mayor said the assistant principal, Mitch Wiener, may have had pre-existing health problems — but on Friday, Wiener's son Adam said his father had only suffered previously from gout, which he said was unrelated to his current condition. He said his 55-year-old father is now suffering from kidney failure, dehydration and a lung infection.
"I don't know where people got that," Adam Wiener, 23, said Friday morning as he prepared to return to the hospital where the family was keeping vigil.
"The only pre-existing condition he has is gout, which is unrelated to complications he's experienced now."
It isn't unusual for flu cases to ebb and surge as the virus moves through a population during flu season. The virus tends to disappear as the weather gets warmer and more humid.
Dr. Isaac Weisfuse, a deputy commissioner of the health department, said investigators are trying to learn more about why the disease has spread erratically.
Schools are a good incubator for illness in general, he said, because space is tight and youngsters often don't practice the best hygiene.
So far, the virus has not proved to be more infectious or deadly than the seasonal flu.
Adam Wiener said his father had been sick since at least last weekend with flu-like symptoms "but we didn't think anything of it." Then early Wednesday, he said, the family called 911 after his father began "hallucinating and wasn't coherent."
Wiener's case marks the most severe illness in the city since the city's first known cases of swine flu appeared in late April. At least five schools in the city were closed then, but all have since reopened. Officials say the students who have fallen ill in this latest surge of illness appear to be experiencing mild symptoms, similar to routine flu.
Bloomberg said the three schools — with more than 4,000 students altogether — would be closed for at least a week because "there are an unusually high level of flulike illnesses at those schools."
"There are documented cases of H1N1 flu at one of them," the mayor said, using the formal name for swine flu.
New York City's first outbreak occurred when hundreds of teenagers at a Roman Catholic high school in Queens began falling ill following the return of several students from vacations in Mexico, where the outbreak began.
An estimated 1,000 students, their relatives and staff at the St. Francis Preparatory School fell ill in a matter of days.
Additional sporadic cases continued to be diagnosed, but the symptoms were nearly all mild. The sick children recovered in short order and St. Francis reopened after being closed for a week.
The middle school with the confirmed cases is two miles from St. Francis.
People at the Susan B. Anthony school said students started going home sick on Tuesday and Wednesday, alarming parents.
"I'm worried," said Dino Dilchande, whose sixth-grade son goes to the school. "The city should have taken more precautions. We should have been notified earlier."
At the start of the flu outbreak in the United States, government health officials recommended that schools shut down for two weeks if there were students with swine flu. But when the virus turned out to be milder than initially feared, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention dropped that advice but urged parents to keep children with flu symptoms home for a week.
CDC officials said schools may decide to close if there is a cluster that's affecting attendance and staffing.
Adam Wiener said his father has been mostly unconscious because of sedation since Wednesday evening, breathing with the help of a ventilator.
One of Wiener's 18-year-old twin sons, Jordan, said his father had been awake briefly and asked him about his leg, which he had injured playing baseball.
"He's always about his kids first," Jordan Wiener said Friday. "He was asking me how I was feeling and how my season's going."

Overcoming Difficult Times
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God"(Psalm 42:5-6, NIV).
TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria

When times get tough, don´t be surprised if you feel a heaviness trying to overwhelm you. Don´t be surprised if you hear negative thoughts telling you, "It´s never going to work out. Things are never going to get better. It´s over. It´s done." When those thoughts come, remember, you have a choice–you don´t have to believe those lies. You don´t have to get on board with your emotions.
In the Bible, David encountered many difficult situations. That spirit of heaviness tried to steal his destiny. He got depressed and discouraged, but do you know what he did? He started talking to himself. He said, "Why are you cast down, oh my soul? Put your hope in the Lord." He was saying, "David, snap out of it! Why are you discouraged? Why have you lost your joy? God is still on the throne, and He still has good things in store." When that heaviness tries to come on you, do what David did. As you put your trust in the Lord and praise Him, He´ll give you His strength and empower you to overcome every obstacle you may face!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father in heaven, thank You for the strength to overcome the difficult times. I choose to shake off the spirit of heaviness by praising and worshiping You. I bless You today and always. In Jesus´ Name. Amen.

Count It All Joy
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing"(James 1:2-4, NLT).
TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria

When troubles come, it´s not natural to get excited about them. Most people don´t say, "Thank you, Lord, for this overwhelming challenge." You don´t go to the mailbox and joyfully exclaim, "Oh thank God–an unexpected bill!" But notice what happens when we remain joyful during the difficult times–it sets us on a course to maturity so that we can receive everything God has for us.
Remember that the key to growing is how you handle adversity. If you complain, you will remain. If you get negative and sour on life, you won´t pass the test. Promotion is available, but if you don´t count it all joy, you miss out. The good news is that God will give you another opportunity. He can still get you to where you need to be. When somebody offends you, you have to decide that you aren´t going to be upset. When things aren´t going your way, instead of complaining, thank the Lord for an opportunity to grow. Count it all joy so that you can be all God has called you to be!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father in heaven, thank You so much for the work You are doing in my life. Even when I don´t understand what´s going on, I choose to trust you. I choose to count it all joy knowing You have a good plan for me. In Jesus´ Name. Amen.

Cooking 101

Tangerine Cupcakes with Coconut Frosting
For a unique spin on vanilla cupcakes, mix finely shredded tangerine peel into your batter. Fluffy coconut frosting makes a pretty and delicious topper.

Tangerine Cupcakes with Coconut Frosting
Ingredients
4 eggs
4 egg yolks
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup cooking oil
2-1/3 cups cake flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 cup butter, softened
2 cups granulated sugar
1 tablespoon finely shredded tangerine or orange peel
3 tablespoons frozen orange tangerine blend concentrate, or orange juice concentrate, thawed
1 8-ounce package cream cheese, softened
6 tablespoons butter, softened
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups powdered sugar
Flaked coconut
Directions
1. Line 30 muffin cups with paper bake cups. In a medium bowl whisk together eggs, egg yolks, buttermilk, the 1 teaspoon vanilla, and the cooking oil; set aside. In another bowl stir together cake flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda; set aside.
2. In a large mixing bowl, beat 3/4 cup butter with an electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds. Gradually add granulated sugar and the peel. Alternately add flour mixture and egg-buttermilk mixture stopping to scrape bowl as needed. Add the thawed concentrate; mix until just combined.
3. Fill prepared muffin cups two-thirds full. Bake in a 350 degree F oven for 18 to 20 minutes or until cupcakes are golden brown and spring back when lightly pressed. (Cupcakes will dip slightly in centers). Cool on a wire rack for 10 to 15 minutes. Remove cupcakes from pan and cool completely before frosting.
4. For frosting, in a large mixing bowl beat cream cheese, the 6 tablespoons butter, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla until combined. Gradually add powdered sugar; beat until smooth. Frost cupcakes and sprinkle with flaked coconut. Makes 30 cupcakes.
5. Tip: If you don't have 30 muffin cups, chill batter while your first batch of cupcakes bake. Wash pans; bake remaining batter as directed above.

My new plants

Pothos
This low-maintenance vine is also commonly called pothos, and is often confused with heartleaf philodendron. Like philodendron, devil's ivy has heart-shape leaves and can be grown as a mounding tabletop plant, in a hanging basket, or trained upright on a pole. It's not fussy about how much light it gets, but the brighter the spot, the more variegation you'll see in the leaves.
Why We Love It: Devil's ivy is one of the more versatile houseplants you can grow. It looks great trailing out of a hanging basket, climbing up a pole or other structure, or just left to crawl over a tabletop or mantel.
Name: Epipremnum aureum 'Marble Queen'Growing
Conditions: Low to bright light; 60-75 degrees F.; keep the soil moderately dry
Size: Trailing plant 8 feet long
Note: All parts of this plant are poisonous and can cause severe irritation of the lips, tongue, and throat if eaten or chewed by pets or children.
Be Glad Always
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"Be happy [in your faith] and rejoice and be glad-hearted continually (always)"(I Thessalonians 5:16).
TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria
How determined are you to enjoy each and every day? In today´s verse, notice how long we are supposed to be glad hearted. As long as people treat us right? As long as we feel okay? As long as the economy is up? No, it says, "Be glad hearted continually and always." That means we´re to be glad in the good times and in the tough times, when it´s sunny and when it´s raining. When those dark clouds are over your head and you feel like life is kind of depressing, kind of gloomy, always remember right above those dark clouds the sun is shining. You may not be able to see the sun in your life right now, but that doesn´t mean it’s not up there.
The good news is that those clouds are just temporary. The sun is going to shine in your life once again. In the meantime, keep your joy. Be glad hearted continually! Don´t let a few clouds sour your life. On the other side of every difficulty, the sun is shining! Make the decision to be glad always, and you´ll move forward in the victory He has in store for you!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Heavenly Father, today I choose joy. I choose to make the most of every day. No matter what is happening around me, I choose to focus on your goodness so that I can move forward in the blessing you have for me. In Jesus´ Name. Amen.

Have a Greay day!

Have a Great day!....
Have a Blessed and Happy Monday!
( Had a great time with friends and Family on the weekend)( LaWanda's mom birthday party).
Set Your Day
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
“Set your minds and keep them set on what is above (the higher things), not on the things that are on the earth”(Colossians 3:2, AMP)
TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria

Have you ever been laying in bed in the morning and out of nowhere you’re reminded of all the mistakes you made yesterday and all the problems you have in your future? That’s the enemy trying to set your mind for a negative, defeated, lousy day, but you don’t have to fall into that trap.
The Scripture says, “Set your mind and keep it set on the higher things.” This tells us that we have to be proactive. We have to stay on the offensive. When you get up in the morning, have the attitude that David did in the Psalms and say, “This is another day the Lord has made! No matter how I feel, no matter what the economy looks like, no matter what the medical report says, I am choosing to rejoice. I am choosing to be happy this day.” You know what you’re really saying? You’re saying, “I’m not going to let other people steal my joy today. I’m not going to let disappointments and setbacks discourage me. I’m not going to focus on my problems and my mistakes. I’m making up my mind to embrace everything the Lord has in store for me!”
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father in heaven, I choose to set my day by setting my mind on things above. I choose to shake off the cares of yesterday and focus on everything You have in store for me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Happy Mother's day!

"Thank You Mom!"

Happy Mothers day!

Charles F. Stanley
God tells us to honor our mother. And He does not set any limits to His command. Because she's our mom, we are to treat her with respect and love.Mothers don't always live up to our expectations. Sometimes, they experience hardships and challenges that affect their ability to offer what we need or want. Or, they might have a personal weakness that negatively impacts us or our families. But we're to follow the example of our heavenly Father, who loved us even though we didn't have any qualities that deserved His favor.
Romans 5:10 says He chose us to belong to Him through His Son Jesus, even while we were still His enemies.God loved us when we were unlovable. We can express our gratitude to Him by giving unconditional love to our mother. With the Holy Spirit's help, we can choose to do so genuinely and consistently. To love the significant women in our lives without any strings attached is an important part of showing them honor. No mother or wife should have to wonder if she's living up to what loved ones hope and expect from her. After a while, she'll feel trapped by the burden of unmet expectations, rather than accepted by those closest to her.Mothers have the same needs as all women: to be loved, listened to, and cared about. Take time to show the important women in your life how much you care for them. Be a willing, attentive listener, and demonstrate your love to them in meaningful ways.
