As i have traveled with my inspiration journals, they have become so much a part of the learning process and have become somewhat of a phenomena all of their own as so many have now joined me in keeping and sharing their creative journey in one of their very own.

each journal comes with a handmade fabric cover and a single signature consisting of 12 white heavyweight pages and 14 inclusion pages including jumbo shipping tags, envelopes, time cards, index tabbed dividers, index cards , etc.

Providence 365, Week 17 - 4/24/2011 - Acts 2:22-24

Providence 365, Week 17 (Will be posting my layout later)

"Christ is risen!" - "He is risen indeed!"

For centuries, Christians have been greeting one another on Easter morning with these words. And, we can join with believers through the ages with the same salutation and rejoice with the saints on Earth and in Heaven. We serve a risen Savior who deserves all glory and praise.

Bible Gateway - Acts 2:22-24 (GOD’S WORD Translation)

Men of Israel, listen to what I say: Jesus from Nazareth was a man whom God brought to your attention. You know that through this man God worked miracles, did amazing things, and gave signs. By using men who don’t acknowledge Moses’ Teachings, you crucified Jesus, who was given over to death by a plan that God had determined in advance. But God raised him from death to life and destroyed the pains of death, because death had no power to hold him.

In Acts 2: 22-24, Peter preached to the crowd at Pentecost, declaring the works of Christ in life and death, including these words:

"...this man, delivered up by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God..."

In God's gracious Providence, He provided the double cure for our sin. By His death and resurrection, He not only took our sin away, but he also gave us His own righteousness. May you rejoice today, remembering His gracious salvation.

Too Good To Be True? 4/24/2011 Our Daily word.

In the 1980s, John Knoll and his brother Thomas began experimenting with a computer program to manipulate images. Software companies thought they were crazy, because photographers didn’t use computers at that time. Initially the brothers called their program Display, then Imaginator, and finally they settled on Photoshop®. Today Photoshop® is used by amateurs at home and professionals in business around the world. A San Jose Mercury News article noted its place in popular language. When something looks too good to be true, people say, “It must have been Photoshopped.”
On the first Easter morning, the women who took spices to anoint the body of Jesus found the tomb empty and heard angels say, “He is not here, but is risen!” (Luke 24:6). When the women told this to the disciples, “Their words seemed to them like idle tales, and they did not believe them” (v.11). Nonsense! Mind-boggling! Too good to be true!

If someone manipulated the evidence, then millions of people around the world gather today to celebrate a myth. But if Jesus conquered death, then all He said about forgiveness, power to change, and eternal life is real.
Because Christ has risen and lives today, this news is too good not to be true!
Up from the grave He arose,
With a mighty triumph o’er His foes;
He arose a Victor from the dark domain,
And He lives forever with His saints to reign. —Lowry
The resurrection is a fact of history that demands a response of faith.

Our daily Bread - 4/23/2011 - Knowing Gods Will

A young man facing the future and unsure of what the next year would bring, concluded, “Nobody knows what God’s will is.” Is he right? Does a lack of certainty about the future translate into not knowing God’s will?

The concept of knowing God’s will is often limited to discerning what specific situation we will be in at some future time. Although seeking God’s specific leading is part of it, another aspect that is just as vital is to follow the clearly defined elements of God’s will each and every day.

For instance, it is God’s will for us to be good citizens as a challenge to those opposed to Christ (1 Peter 2:15), to give God thanks no matter what (1 Thess. 5:18), to be sanctified sexually, avoiding immorality (1 Thess. 4:3), to live under the Holy Spirit’s control (Eph. 5:18), to sing to Him (v.19), and to submit to other believers (v.21).

As we submit to God in these and other areas, we are more likely to live in what Romans 12:2 calls God’s “good and acceptable and perfect will.” Living with God’s smile of approval leads to His guidance for the future.
As we seek to know God’s will for the future, we must also act on what we already know now.
Knowing God’s will for the future
Comes when we follow today
What He’s revealed in the Scriptures
As His commands to obey. —Sper

Love and obey the Lord every day, and He will unfold your future.

Dealing With Delay (4-15-2011)

Dealing With Delay
Today, when plans are shattered, do our minds dwell on the circumstances or on the Lord? During frustrating delay, can we still trust the loving heart of God? In the hymn “Like a River Glorious,” Frances Havergal so beautifully expressed what we long for.

Hidden in the hollow of His blessed hand,
Never foe can follow, never traitor stand;
Not a surge of worry, not a shade of care,
Not a blast of hurry touch the spirit there.
Stayed upon Jehovah, hearts are fully blest,
Finding as He promised, perfect peace and rest. —Havergal

When we put our problems in God’s hands,
He puts His peace in our hearts.

Pay Attention To Signs 4-12-2011

The road was smooth and we were making good progress as we headed for Jay’s dad’s house in South Carolina. As we drove through the mountains in Tennessee, I began seeing detour signs. But Jay kept going, so I assumed that they didn’t apply to us. Shortly before we reached the North Carolina border, we came to a sign that said the highway ahead was closed due to a rock slide. We would have to turn around. Jay was surprised. “Why wasn’t there any warning?” he wanted to know. “There were lots of warnings,” I said. “Didn’t you see the signs?” “No,” he said, “why didn’t you mention them?” “I assumed that you saw them,” I answered. We now tell this story to entertain our friends.
Throughout history, God provided plenty of “signs” to show people the way to live, but they kept going their own way. When God finally sent His Son as a sign (Luke 11:30), the religious leaders paid little attention to His warnings. Life for them was good. They were recognized and respected (v.43). They resented being told that they were wrong (v.45).
We can be the same way. When life is going well, we tend to ignore warnings that we need to turn around and change our sinful ways. It’s important to remember that we may be wrong even though life is good.
God gives us warnings to prevent
What comes from falling into sin;
But if we do ignore—and fall—
Confession cleanses us within. —Sper

God sends warnings to protect us, not to punish us.

(Side note - I was thinking about some things, now that I have read Todays Daily Word I'm wondering if those were God's sign - So Lord since I'm unclear of the signs please make them clear let me know that they are from you, I love you Lord.)

And I promise to give your Name all my Praise, To God be all my Glory!

ABC Scripture Challenge {Word #8), Hands 4/10/2011

Challenge Word #8: Hands ( Journaling from Patter Cross Blog)

(Will post layout later today)

Though God Himself is invisible to us and His hands are unseen, we certainly can see the daily effect that His hands have on our lives. Here are a few words God gave me about His hands as I dwelled on this. I encourage you to look at each scripture in your Bible as I have paraphrased the verses here.
His hands:
• Create (Deuteronomy 32:39—He brings to life and no one can release us from His hands.)
• Discipline (Hebrews 12:10—He disciplines for our good.)
• Give/Provide (1 Chronicles 29:16—Everything comes from His hand and it all belongs to Him.)
• Guide (Psalm 25:5—He guides in His truth & teaches us.)
• Heal (1 Peter 2:24—By His wounds we are healed.)
• Hold (Isaiah 41:13—He holds us and says ‘do not fear.’)
• Love (Romans 8:39—Nothing can separate us from His love.)
• Mighty (Psalm 118:16—His hand is lifted high and does mighty things.)
• Mold (Isaiah 64:8—He is the potter, we are the clay, and we are the work of His hands.)
• Protect (Ezra 8:31—His hand is on us and protects us.)

Notice how I did not have the word ‘serve’ on this list. Yes, hands are used to serve; however, He does not use His hands to serve us. Acts 17:24-25 says “He God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. And He is not served by human hands, as if He needed anything. Rather, He himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else." He gives it all to us, and He needs nothing from us. However, we are to use our hands to serve Him. Luke 1:73-75 says “the oath He swore to our father Abraham: to rescue us from the hand of our enemies, and to enable us to serve Him without fear in holiness and righteousness before Him all our days.”

How are you using your hands to serve Him? Can you see the hand of God upon you each day? If yes, will you take a moment to thank God for how His hands are upon your daily—how He saved you, how He guides you, disciplines you, heals you, loves you, protects you, etc.? And if not, will you ask God to show you how His hands are upon you each day?

Providence 365, Week 15 - April 10, 2011

Providence 365, Week 15
"Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor do they reap, nor gather in to barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you nor worth much more than the...Do not be anxious then, saying, "What shall we eat?" or What shall we drink?" or "With what shall we clothe ourselves?"...Your heavenly Father knows you need all these things."
Matthew 6:26, 31, 32
Week 15 of Providence 365.

God cares for His children, providentially, through the means of our paychecks, gifts, common graces such as sunshine and air to breathe, and our families. He knows what we need, for He made us with those needs. He knows what we need better than we!

Getting It! - 4/8/2011 - Our Daily Bread

A Christian sports reporter was visiting a major league baseball clubhouse. While he was chatting with a Christian player, a team official came by and noticed that they were talking about “Christian stuff” after a tough loss. He scolded the reporter for not talking about the game and then he left. The All-Star pitcher said to the reporter, “Sorry. He just doesn’t get it.”

We live in a world of people who “don’t get it.” They don’t understand that while we strive to be the best at what we do, the most important thing in life is to please God. For the believer, it is for God’s glory and the gospel of Jesus that we play ball, sell insurance, run a printing press, or teach school.

In 1 Corinthians 9, Paul explained that the disciple of Christ should “endure all things lest we hinder the gospel of Christ” (v.12). The goal of the believer is getting the word out about Jesus. “Woe is me if I do not preach the gospel!” he said (v.16). One way to do that is to live out a godly lifestyle that prompts others to ask about the hope that is in us (1 Peter 3:15).
Around us are people who think the things of this world are most important. But instead of becoming frustrated at the resistance we meet, our goal should be to advance the gospel by helping others to “get it.”

Dim not, little candle,
Show Jesus through me!
Glow brightly till others
The Light clearly see! —Adams
May God make your life a lighted window of Christian example.

School Of Hard Knocks - 4-7-2011 ( Our Daily Bread)

Not sure about you but I need the word everyday ....
Of all my childhood memories, one stands out above the others. While I have no idea what my teacher said, I clearly remember telling her to “shut up.” She sent me home, so I got up and left my kindergarten class to walk the half-block home. Walking down the sidewalk, I saw my mother weeding in the garden behind our house. I was now faced with a strategic decision—continue on my way and tell my mother why I was home early from school, or turn around and go back to face my teacher.
When I returned to the classroom, I was immediately escorted to the restroom where my teacher washed my mouth out with soap. That kind of discipline probably wouldn’t happen today, but take it from me, it was effective! To this day I am acutely sensitive about the impact of my words.

God is passionately interested in our positive growth as His children. At times He needs to confront us with unpleasant circumstances to catch our attention and reorient our lives to more consistently produce the “peaceable fruit of righteousness” (Heb. 12:11).

Don’t resist God’s corrective hand. Respond to His reproofs with thankfulness that He loves you enough to care about what kind of a person you are becoming.

Because our Father’s heart is grieved
Each time we go astray,
He lifts His chastening hand in love
To help us to His way. —D. De Haan
God’s correction is our hope for a better life.

ABC Scripture Challenge {Word #7}, Gift

Readthe complee Article on Patter cross blog ....http://triplethescraps.blogspot.com/
I wonder—do you look for the gifts big or small that God sends you every day? And no, I am not talking about the type of gifts wrapped in fancy paper with a beautiful bow but gifts from God that touch our hearts deeply and that are truly from Him just for you and just for me. So, today’s word is:
Challenge Word #7: Gift (Will be posting layout later)

So, do you look for the gifts, big or small, that God brings your way? Do you share it with others? I shared with the sales woman today, and though she looked at me like I was nuts, I pray God used it for His glory! I want to proclaim His name from the rooftops. How do you feel when He gives you gifts like that? How do you feel about the most amazing gift of His precious Son sent to die for your sins on the cross? Have you accepted that gift so that you can live with Him eternally or have you chosen to refuse His gift and live in eternal condemnation? Every one of us has been given the gift, and we must choose to accept it or refuse it. What have you chosen?

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Ephesians 2:8-9 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.”
2 Corinthians 9:15 “Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!”

I'm Going to Scale this down to a 6x6 for P365

I'm going to try and scale this down to fit my P365 for this week, week 10 Psalm16:1....

Providence 365 - Week 13 - Romans 11:36 - 3/27/2011

Providence 365: Week 13
For our verse this week, Romans 11:36, which says,:

For from Him, and through Him, and to Him are all things.
To Him be the glory forever. Amen.
Just a good reminder that our lives aren't chaotic happenstance. But, rather, they are for the express purpose of bringing glory to Christ. That would be a huge, unattainable goal were it not for the fact that it is only through the One to whom all glory belongs that we have the ability in any measure to exactly that! Isn't He good? What He commands, He enables. We serve an awesome God.

Providence 365 - Week 14 - Ephesians 6: 1-3 - April 3rd

Providence 365 - Week 14 What a blessing it is to know that you are joining us on this journey through the year. Each week we share a special bible verse to provide a bit of inspiration – something for you to think about, pray on, and hopefully create a layout or hybrid project to help share your thoughts, stories and memories – the ones that are important to you and your family.
Each week there is page that goes with the themed page, here is the page for week 14 - Honor thy Mom and Dad.
Ephesians 6: 1-3
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise - “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.”

Providence 365 - Week 12 - Ecclesiastes 3 - 3/20/2011

Week 12 - Ecclesiastes 3

A Time for Everything There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:
a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,a time for war and a time for peace.
This week, reflect on what your season is. What are you being called to do? There is a time for everything.

Providence 365 - Week Ten Sunday 3/6/2011- Psalm 16:1

Keep me safe, my God, for in you I take refuge. Psalm 16:1
Isn’t it wonderful that we know that our Loving God can and will keep us safe. He provides refuge – protects us from dangers and He shelters us from distress.
Use this week to reflect on this verse. We each face ‘danger’ or ‘distress’ in our lives at some point or another. How are you kept safe in His loving care? Perhaps you pause before going through the intersection when the light turns green – and avert a nasty accident. Maybe a friend calls and offers to help with a special project – just when you were totally stressing and thought you would not get it finished in time. Or maybe you are sitting in your favorite chair enjoying quiet time and simply feel a warmth that envelops you like a hug
