{Scripture Challenge} Challenge Word #5 - Follow

{Scripture Challenge 2} Challenge Word #5, Follow
Copied and pasted from patter Blog!
Have you ever owned a puppy that continuously followed you? Or do you have small children or do you remember when your children followed you like little puppy dogs? I know sometimes we tend to get exasperated when there is someone always on our heels! But, let’s think about why they follow us. Well, those little puppies and precious children follow us because they love us, they feel safe around us, they enjoy being with us, and because they need direction. As adults, we need love, safety, fellowship, and direction too! A lot of times we feel lost and don’t know where to turn. Sometimes we feel like our lives are in shambles because we didn’t make the right choices or we followed the wrong “guide.” Who are you following? Are you following your best friend, the ways of the world, or are you following Jesus Christ because you love Him, because you feel safe with Him, because He gives you direction, and because you enjoy His fellowship?Rick Renner writes that “the word ‘followed’ is the Greek word ‘akoloutheo’ which means to follow after someone or something in a very determined and purposeful manner.” Are you purposefully following Jesus daily? Are you purposeful in seeking His will for you in all things? Are you following His ways as He leads you or are you asking His blessing after your start out doing your own thing? Stay put until He calls you to follow.

I love these Verses also.
Deutoronomy 13:4 says “It is the LORD your God you must follow, and Him you must revere. Keep His commands and obey Him; serve him and hold fast to Him.

”Matthew 16:24 says “Then Jesus said to his disciples, ‘If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.’”

As Christians, we are called to follow Him—not the world or our own desires. I pray that you will follow Him daily, move as He leads, and that you will learn to listen to Him so you know when to move or when to wait.
